I remember every holiday season growing up, we left our regular dinnerware behind and brought out the boxes and boxes (and boxes and boxes, haha) of formal dinnerware. I loved the pretty silver boxes that were lined with velvet and had all the silver wear perfectly in line. It makes my OCD self so happy to see the perfect place for everything, including holiday silver. The smell of my grams and gramps house filled with pasta sauce and wine and a perfectly set holiday table, bring me right back to that time in my childhood. Still to this day the smell of fresh pasta sauce somehow triggers a signal in my brain that Christmas is close and family time is near. It funny how those smells of the holiday bring so much joy!
When I imagine the holidays in my house I always hoped it would feel the same, with a beautiful table setup and special dining wear brought out for holiday dinner. So when I had the chance to go to MacKenzie-Childs in New York, I jumped at the chance to see this incredible company in action.
We also recently completed a remodel of our downstairs and I was really inspired by some modern elements, mixed with elements of a beach house and wanted to have dining wear to match. Long time coming, but I finally have a great dining space, especially when the holiday season is here.
I have made it my goal this year, to put on a beach holiday party, and I am sure that I have found the perfect dinnerware for the event!
The details of MacKenzie-Childs home decor, is on another level! The first time I saw MacKenzie-Childs Courtly Check, I fell in love! And after I found out about the fact that a MacKenzie-Childs piece is either made by hand or painted by hand (or in most cases both) and I was blown away. The love they put into each piece, could not be anymore obvious, especially after you put your hands on one of MacKenzie-Childs Snowfall Wine Glass.
Each glass is hand blown, then hand painted by a MacKenzie-Childs artist, and is unbelievably BEAUTIFUL!! They take me back to childhood and the Christmas glasses my mom put out every year. Just oh so fancy and oh so perfect!
I knew that after seeing the snowfall alongside the Courtly Check, I knew I had my modern beach home formal dinner party I have always dreamed of! I really love a mix of casual beach with a little something fancy. Its kind of my over all style. I love a good pair of worn jeans with a fancy top! Just like that I wanted a healthy mix of casual, easy style with some fancy touches. I picked the prettiest silverwear in this gorgeous gold check to match perfectly with the snowfall glasses and white dinner plates. Topped with beachy creamy linens and napkins rings with gold, black and white check, and pretty embellishments, I found it all came together so perfect.
Cool beachy colors, the boldness of the Courtley Check, and finishing the table with some boho vibes, welcome to my Modern Beach Home Formal Holiday Dinner Party! I hope you love it and find some home inspiration for your holiday table!
Up next, planning my plant based holiday dinner menu!:)
